By reducing her expenses through tiny house living, she can dedicate herself to these animals and work at a non-profit animal shelter. Michelle discovered tiny homes like many others, through television shows featuring individuals entering professionally built tiny homes. However, Michelle took a different approach; she managed to strip a 16-foot cabin to its bare frame and then rebuild the entire house you see today.

With 95% completion of the house, she only needs to work on some molding and painting in the loft. Although she originally had a composting toilet, she plans to install a flush toilet in the future. The entire project took her about one and a half years to finish. She received assistance from her ex-husband, who provided the shell by allowing her to use his driveway. She then completed the interior on her own, taking care of the windows, deck, and siding. During the initial months of living in it, the house was just a shell, but she was able to create her ideal living space according to her preferences.

She designed an L-shaped window seat and a china cupboard to showcase her mother’s vintage china, which was an important feature for her. The result is impressive. Mary now resides full-time on a 300-acre farm that the owner divided into smaller lots. She has access to electricity, water, and septic systems, and has even been able to cultivate her own one-acre garden. Additionally, she plans to have a chicken coop and goats. Her future plans include opening her own animal rescue and constructing the building herself. Finding the land to park her tiny home on was the most challenging part, but she is very satisfied with the location she ended up with. Now she can work less, relax more, and spend quality time with her family and animals. The tiny home she created is a blend of modern and Victorian styles. It is painted in a fresh white color with black accents for the shutters and hardware. The exterior is welcoming, featuring a small deck in the front with enough space for a dining set or some rocking chairs.

The house’s interior is charming and modern, with a blend of rustic elements, florals, and gingham. It is like a life-sized dollhouse, with ample storage to showcase the owner’s collection of antiques. The staircase leading to the loft is made from a cupboard and shelving, making it both aesthetically pleasing and easy to climb. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, and there is a bathroom located at the back. A lovely electric fireplace with a beautifully decorated mantle adds to the ambiance, adorned with flowers and antiques. This tiny home serves as a great source of inspiration, proving that anyone can bring their tiny house dreams to life.
